Fresh Off a Second Game 7 Win, Rangers to Move on to Eastern Conference Finals
The rangers were able to take a well-deserved day off after rallying from a three-to-one deficit and eliminating the Penguins. There is no denying that they were resilient, especially will Henrik Lundqvist, the first NHL goalie to win five consecutive Game 7s, or the team effort that gave the players on the Rangers’ current roster an 83-6 record in Game7s. Lundqvist had the following to say regarding the matter moments after the Rangers beat Pittsburgh, 2-1:
I’m a little surprised how much focus there is on the goalie’s record when it’s a team sport. I do my part, and they have to do theirs. We like that type of challenge.
