Fun Drinking Games to Play at Your Next Party
Power Hour
Power hours are great because you can usually make up your own rules. Like the name describes, the game lasts for an hour. You can use a list of songs or even an episode of your favorite show to play. One example could be that for every time the chorus comes on in a song, you have to take a shot. Or for a TV show, you can make a rule that for every time a certain character shows up you have to chug a beer. The game is fast-paced, so make sure to take a long break after the game is over. You will have plenty to drink in a short amount of time, so drinking water in between shots is also a good idea!
Cheers Governor!
If you don’t happen to have a deck of cards near you, you’re in luck! Cheers Governor is a game where you need to use your memory, which makes it very challenging for a drinking game. Everyone sits in a circle. Going clockwise, you start with the number 1 and each person counts until you get up to the number 21. Sounds easy, right? Well, there are rules. Each time you get up to 21, you say “cheers governor!” and the person who counted number 21 gets to make up a rule. Instead of saying 5, you may have to clap. You might have to switch the numbers 3 and 6. The tricky part is getting up to 21 without making a mistake because if you do, you have to start back at 1 again. And of course, the person who messes up also has to take a drink.
Beer Olympics
Beer Olympics are always entertaining, especially at a day-drinking event or a barbeque. You can make up teams and have a friendly competition. The best part of Beer Olympics is that you can be creative and choose all different events to compete in such as flip cup, beer ball and of course, a classic game of beer pong. Beer Olympics does require more of an effort and you have to keep score of each team in order to have a winner. However with enough time to plan, Beer Olympics can be a lot of fun!
Drinking games are a great idea for those who want to have a fun pre game with friends before they come to the bar. After you and your friends enjoy these games, come down to Village Pourhouse for some more fun and great drinks!
